Welcome to 2nd grade

Greetings,
Welcome to 2nd grade! I am so excited for the new year to begin. This blog will act as our bi-weekly newsletter. I will update this site every other week. I would like to share a few things with you about our first week of school.
The most important thing for the first week of school is that I know how your child will get to and from school every day. If you have any type of change in your child's transportation you must call the office or send a note. Please note that car line is not the same as parent pick up. Car line is when you drive through the car pick up line with a car tag. Parent pick up is when you park, and walk into the building to get your child. Sometimes this can be confusing.
During the first week of school we will focus mostly on classroom rules and routines. We will practice what SOAR behavior looks like and discuss what is expected at school. When students become active listeners they become active learners. Becoming an active listener will be our main focus this year. This year I will also be very focused on students following the rules first time around. The first week of school is also a week of getting to know one another. We will do a lot of team building activities that will teach students to trust and work together.
Students may bring in a healthy snack each day. We will have snack late in the afternoon. Students may also keep a water bottle at school. Please send in water bottles that have spill proof lids. Water bottles may be kept at student's seats if they have spill proof lids only.
Students will be taking chrome books home this year and it is the responsibility of the student to charge them each night at home. We will be using them on a daily basis at school. We have not been given the exact date on when chrome books will be passed out to students at this point. I will let you know once I am informed.
Please feel free to email me with any questions that you may have about the first week of school. aimeenoskowiak@nixaschools.net

I hope you are having a wonderful summer,
Ms. Noskowiak
