January 24th, 2017

Greetings,
We had a wonderful day celebrating our 100th day of school. Students participated in 100 day activities in the morning and we learned the value of $100 this afternoon. Some students dressed up as 100 years old and they were absolutely the cutest old people on the earth.
Our Valentine's Day Party will be on February 14th. We will have a small party in our classroom. The PTA will provide a snack for the students. We will be exchanging Valentine's Day cards. I will send home a list of student names in the near future. We have 21 students in our classroom. Students may create a Valentine's Day box at home and bring it to school. If your child does not create a box I will provide a bag for them to put their cards in.
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held during the last week of February. We will have an Open House on February 28th for all parents to come visit our room and see some of our work. Individual conferences will be set up at the parent's request and not required for everyone. Please contact me if you would like to conference about your child. I will be happy to set up a conference during this time.
We will be starting a Math Club on January 30th for interested students. I sent out the registration form through Seesaw. Students may attend any of the three days that it is offered.

January 10th, 2017

Greetings,
We have started the week off with a lot of students being absent due to illness. We had 7 out on Monday and 5 gone on Tuesday. From what I am hearing there is a stomach bug and strep going around.
Report cards will be going home on Friday of this week if we don't miss school due to an ice storm. I sure hope the ice does not get here. I sent SRI scores to you on Seesaw. If you have questions about them, please email me.
I wanted to share how amazing it has been passing out our homeless packs to people on the streets in Springfield. What a blessing you have been in providing these packs for them. If you could see the looks on their faces, you would be thrilled.
We will be starting a unit on soil and rocks this month. Be looking for a sing up genius soon. We are in need of some soil and other items to help with this. In math we are learning about shapes and their attributes and learning to create an array to solve simple multiplication problems. We will be creating a how to project this month also. Students need to pick a how to project. They will write a paper on how to create their project, then present how to make it in class. Can't wait for these!!!
Just a reminder that we do not have school on January 16th!!! That could change if we end up missing school on Friday for ice.

Have a great week,

Ms. Noskowiak
