November 28th

Greetings,
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving Break. I am so glad to see everyone back at school. We have some very exciting things happening in December. I will start with our Random Act of Kindness Community Activity. I am so excited about this!!! We are learning about giving back to the community. We will be collecting items to make care packages for the homeless. We will be collecting, warm hats, gloves, socks, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and candy canes. You can start sending items in at any time through December 15th.
Next week the Santa Store will be open. Students may do their Christmas shopping for family and friends. Every item in the store is $1 and they will wrap all of the items. We will be going to the Santa Store on Tuesday at our specials time next week. PTA normally sends out envelopes for money and a list for students to write down who they will be shopping for. So be looking for that to come home.
I will be purchasing stockings for students as a Christmas gift. I will be asking parents to send in 22 little tokens/treats as stocking stuffers during the week of December 12th-16th. You could send in pencils, fruit roll-ups, rice crispy treats, stickers, erasers, mini toys, etc.
This week we will be learning about maps. Students will create their own treasure map at the end of the week. We are also learning how to count money and give change. We will start some 2nd quarter testing this week in math and reading.

Happy Thanksgiving

Greetings,
We only have two days of school this week, so our blog will be very short. We had a great time at our Thanksgiving Feast today! We made vest, hats, played a fun Native American game and ate lots of good stuff. Thanks for your help in sending in the supplies that we needed.
We are writing about lots of things that we are thankful for in our Thankful Journals. We will send those journals home sometime in December. Students created a trifold research project on the Plains and Woodland Native Americans. Students will bring those home today. Students also created an artifact, tool or weapon out of salt dough.
I posted several photos of our Thanksgiving Feast on Seesaw.

Have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving!
